Dad, you left the door

to the fridge wide open.  we walked

in the snow, over the horizon, to the other

horizon, feeling the hairs of polar

bears in our hands.  when

night came, we saw a cactus, but

it was only

a home, the one where we

began, where we put

leftovers in the

fridge.  and now they’re spoiled.
