the four servants step in

with rickety sticks on their back and

a throne of brass above their eyes.  The two journalists

look to each other and then avoid the

eyes of the king.  He asks them why he

should let women in his throne room and

they say that for them it is not

a strange thing, that life

in the southern valley is

upside down.  One of the

servants collapses and blow darts

pepper the windows, bursting

through the views

of the mountains.  Time

stops and the journalists never

need to worry about justifying their gender.
