She takes off her gloves slowly

and undoes her bonnet fast

as she stoops down lowly

and then walks out of the past

and onto the sidewalk at the sea

just above the cliffs, near the mast

above the capitalist tree.

She asks a jogger where he goes

and he says, ‘do you mean me?’

she ask him where he flows

and he spills out slowly,

she steps into the shade where no one knows.
