The sand feels like

chopped woods on her feet and

the logs feel like glass.  Her father picks

her up and tells her

to wash her feet when they

get home.  Their mother is

far away, with her face in the

sun, asking the moon

why he switch the

feelings of objects and their words.

Which is which, the mother and

the father ask each other

and each other tells the

sea that it’s salt brings too

much sweetness into

their family and their family

brings too much salt to the

world.
